Susanna+Anthony : Inn at Erlowest Wedding Photos

How did you meet? Do you have a special proposal story?
We met in College and have been dating since. Anthony attempted to propose multiple times on several of our vacations; in Peru at the home where his parents grew up, while hiking the Pacific Coast Trek on Vancouver Island, and in Florida on the beach /under the sunset. It worked out that each time, I unknowingly prevented these attempts from happening. So, it was on a quite Saturday night in our apartment after walking through new snowfall in Central Park, Anthony started playing a video he had put together with pictures and music of us through our time dating and as I watched, I could feel his heart racing and could feel his body shaking. At the end of the video he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I kissed him and hugged him and said, yes!

What are your wedding colors and/or themes?
While we had no particular color, we had themes/feelings we kept in mind that we wanted to express that day were: happy, fun, elegant, light, and spring.

Did you incorporate any fun themes/motifs or design elements?
We just wanted family and friends to be able to focus on our love for the day and our appreciation of them. Victoria Milne, our officiant, did an amazing job helping us create this expression during our ceremony that lasted throughout the entire evening.

Did you include any special traditions, old or new?
Old – carried my Grandma’s handkerchief down the isle just as my sister and mom both did during their wedding ceremonies. New – Binding of the hands. We wanted to incorporate a Peruvian tradition and we were able to use fabric Anthony’s sister brought up from Peru to do this.

Is there anything else you’d like to share?
The Inn at Erlowest did an excellent job coordinating the day and we owe it to them and all of our vendors, including the Walker Wedding Group team for being so ridiculously easy to work with. Everyone was super receptive and we could trust that everything was going to be as we imagined. It was better! It was the perfect day for us. Thank you!!
