What is your inspiration when planning your wedding?
Will and I met in Vermont so it was really special for us to share the beautiful area with our family and friends. Aesthetically, we wanted our look to feel simple, but timeless – highlighting the beauty of the Green Mountains and the classic elegance of the Ekwanok Country Club.

Did you incorporate any fun themes/motifs or design elements?
My Mom is a gifted artist, and we ended up using a watercolor she painted of a hydrangea in our Save-the-Date. We loved the image so much, we carried the motif through to our formal invites and had light touches of hydrangeas in our florals to tie everything together. She also painted the barn at the Hill Farm Inn for our Rehearsal Dinner invites, which is where we held the event – it was one of many smaller personal touches that made our Wedding so special.

Did you include any special traditions, old or new?
Will’s Aunt Judy shared a fun Collins family tradition with us and our guests the night of our wedding. During our first year of marriage, Will would need to fill a vase with a rose on the 24th of every month to celebrate our anniversary (8/24). A tradition for everyone who gets married in the Collins family. It’s been a fun tradition during our year as newlyweds and serves as a great reminder to reflect back on our favorite weekend! For my something borrowed, I wore my older sister’s wedding veil, and my hope is that this will become a new tradition with my younger sister wearing it next!
