Alex+Jordan : Lake George Club Wedding Photos

What was your inspiration when planning your wedding? How did that impact your colors and/or themes?
That’s easy- Alex’s dress! We knew the night we got engaged that we were having our wedding at the Lake George Club so at first we were thinking of more of a ‘rustic romantic’ theme because of how rustic the inside of the club is, but after getting the dress everything changed (even what the guys were going to wear!). The theme then went to pink everything, even pink linins and pink plates. I think we decided on pink because Alex’s dress seemed sort of whimsical with the flower appliques and because it wasn’t “wedding white” we wanted a bouquet that would contrast nicely, pink is also Alex’s favorite color and with the backdrop of the brown from the club everything ended up looking awesome! The other thing we really wanted incorporated into the wedding was for our guests to enjoy the beauty of the Lake George Club. It’s the most unique spot on the lake and we were so thankful for a nice night where our guests were able to enjoy the cocktail hour outside on the docks.

Did you incorporate any fun themes/motifs or design elements?
I mean did you see the flower wall?! During a design meeting with David from Renaissance, Alex had shown David a place card design which more or less had the seating cards against a rose backdrop. He took that idea into a flower wall and made it the centerpiece of the entire wedding reception. It was seriously beyond beautiful and made for a really cool backdrop for the wedding speeches and guest photo ops. The other cool theme we had was the incorporation of the nautical alphabet into our tables and invitations since Lake George Club is a sailing club.

Did you include any special traditions, old or new?
I think we kind of went with our own tradition in just having our siblings in the bridal party. Jordan is the youngest of five with his family spread-out from California to NY, and Alex is the oldest of three. Both of us are very family oriented and wanted to highlight that aspect about us. By just incorporating our family it made for a more intimate wedding weekend.

Is there anything else you’d like to share?
“yes- I had so much fun through the planning process and ultimately the wedding. I involved my mom in all of the planning and we had the best time seeing our vision come to reality (that day is just as important for the MOB). I tried my hardest not to plan too many details and left a lot of the logistics up to my wedding planner, and the decor to my florist. What they created went beyond what I could of ever anticipated.”

“Seeing my wife’s reactions as she experienced the wedding of her dreams meant the word to me. The wedding encompassed so much of both our personalities. St. Mary’s is where we attend mass in the summertime and lake George club is where we celebrated our engagement, making the day that much more meaningful. After seeing some of the beautiful footage and pictures it is very clear how lucky and loved Alex and I both are. Everyone involved in making it happen deserves an A+. And that dress!”
